DISCLAIMER

DISCLAIMER: I have no association with UVB-76 station, neither do I have any clue what is the content I am relaying. I can only assure, that the signal is received on 4.625MHz AM-modulated 900km NW from supposed origin and retransmitted unaltered. In no way can I guarantee this service, nor be considered responsible of any content re-transmitted. The only purpose for this relay to exist is because lot of people who do not have equipment or are located too far from station seem to be interested about listening to it. Should the UVB-76 station- or transmission content owners feel violated in any way, please contact me at uvb76.repeater@gmail.com and we will work it out.

Note, that because of shortwave radio signal propagation specifics the station can be more or less reliably received from around 4pm to 6am GMT on summertime. It is almost 24h audible during the winter, with short "skip-zone" blank-out around 6pm GMT.

The USB feed is considered as main source of audio today, as the voice messages are much better audible there than on the AM stream. However, the buzzer sound from the AM stream is somewhat more pleasant to listen at, so both feeds are kept simultaneously.

Third feed serving UVB-76

There is a huge interest about the feed for past two days, so both the AM and USB stream capacity has been on its maximum for several hours a day. As the Conet Radio meanwhile serves only one or two listeners max, I have temporarily replaced it with the UVB-76. This is the copy of AM feed, just different streaming address - see the top of the page.

  1. Good to see you're still active on this! A few of us at facepunch studios forum have been interested in this over the past few days. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=990390 Thanks a lot for providing us with this broadcast, it's much appreicated. Ignore my name, I had to think of something fast.

  2. There seems to be a doppler effect in the live broadcast. Has anyone identified if the doppler effect is consistent over time? Is it due to interference with the signal, or produced at the source? Some speculated UVB-76 might be broadcasting from an open mic... could the sound generator or the microphone be moving?

  3. Ive noticed a lot of people assuming these streams are down because they can't connect.

They arent down! I guess just running at capacity. Keep trying to connect, you will eventually :)

  4. I'm growing more and more interested in listening to UVB-76 and other similar stations on a regular basis, and I'd love to do so without taxing your bandwidth and needing an internet connection.

To anyone reading, I have two questions I was hoping you might be able to help me with:
    1. Is it worth trying from North America (more specifically Ottawa, Ontario, Canada)? Will I get decent reception?

    2. What receivers give the best bang for the buck? How much should I expect to spend? Is there a huge variability in quality?

  5. @Vorpal:
I am currently in Minnesota, and I have been listening for days. The reception will be fine, but regardless, there will be static and you will need to have a keen ear for sounds.

Oh and btw, the streams change for different situations, (ie, weather, static, ect), I have been using the AM frequency (Main secondary feed), but usually I use the USB feed.

You may have trouble connecting a times, but you will eventually, if not, you can always come here:http://www.justin.tv/rampageturke#/w/340896016/8 which features a live chatroom and time zone clocks.
